When I was a child I asked a
gardener how she made the plants in her garden grow so big. She looked at
me for a brief second that seemed as though it lasted longer than it
should. Then her blank stare turned into a smile and she told me " I
don't make the the plants grow, the sun, the rain and the earth make my
plants grow. All I do is create a safe haven for them to live and
thrive, in return they do the same for me." How similar plants are to Ideas... |

The beginnings of LO-JO.
LO-JO and his kind are a series of semi-animate biomechanical life forms. LO-JO may be the answer to the question in the April - May edition of Studio Work "How did JO-JO loose his arm?" |

Here you can see the "back pack" which is an opening in the back, suitable to store a few small objects. When the piece is finished (glaze fired) the "back pack" lid (which can be seen in the lower right hand corner of this picture) will be fitted with a wooden dowel that will act as a hinge. |
